Ufo361 creates something special with “Daniel Lee”
Ufo361 – Daniel Lee
Rapper Ufo361 is one of the most acquired tastemakers in the German hiphop scene. Recently he dropped his new single “Daniel Lee”, named after Bottega Veneta’s creative director.
The song is another ode to his immaculate success, which actually came quite late in his career. Its lyrics and music video are the embodiment of ambition and mirror what he and his fans desire.
Embodiment of luxury
Celebrating success, Ufo is sliding his Porsche’s and taking his girl out to Tiffany’s. While you don’t need to be an insider to know those brands, the mentions of Daniel Lee and his brand Bottega Veneta act as evidence of him being in the know.
The accompanying music video actually shows Ufo361 riding a black and green Suzuki GSX-R. It’s a superbike by the Japanese manufacturer.
The style-defining video reinsures that “Archive from head to toe. My collection insane” is not only a bar. Ufo can be seen rocking anything lavish.
From vintage Raf Simons (straight out of the fashion archive, just like he said) to an upcoming Prada jacket, or the famous Maison Margiela x Reebok sneakers.
But also brands less known to the mainstream, such as the shoes of Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester, can be seen in the video.
“Way back on the Streets. Now Bottega, Daniel Lee”
Ufo is the German rapper who has probably best mastered the art of implementing style in his music. Features with U.S. greats like Future, Gunna or Quavo are a testament to the fact that Ufo’s music works across national borders. It can even transcend language barriers.
And that is because it conveys something that is globally understandable and a significant part of the culture worldwide:
It is rags-to-riches in its purest form, a story of self-empowerment. What can easily be mistaken for nothing more but an excessive flaunting of wealth is the depiction of what he has accomplished against all odds. It is also an expression of cultural knowledge.
