Kanye West & Derrick Rose tease new Yeezy collaboration

The persistent rumors seem to be coming true: Kanye West and basketball player Derrick Rose are working on a joint Yeezy collaboration.
Derrick Rose shared a series of pictures on Instagram, talking about the partnership and how it came to be.
Two of Chicagos finest
Both Kanye and Rose hail from the Windy City, Chicago. Fittingly, Derrick Rose is also signed to Adidas, the patron of Kanye West’s clothing brand.
As Rose explains in his text, he didn’t know that Kanye had wanted to work with him to such an extent. However, he said, it was an honor for him to be able to work with one of his idols.
“He represents Black Opulence and we love Ye for that and always will. People hate on him but deeeeeep down you know it’s inspiring.“
So far it is still unclear what the joint collection will look like. With “D Rose” the basketball player also has his own line of shoes at Adidas.
Last year, Kanye West made it into the elaborated billionaires club. He was able to acquire a large part of his fortune with his clothing brand Yeezy. In 2019, the brand was able to generate nearly $1.3 billion in footwear-only sales, Bloomberg reported. For Kanye, that meant $147 million in royalties.
Adidas & the superstars
The collaboration of Derrick Rose and Kanye West once again reinforces Adidas’ partnership with big names of the culture. The sports manufacturer also recently secured another absolute megastar in Germany. The most successful German rapper of all time, Capital Bra, signed with the three stripes.
He also presented the German national team’s new away jersey as part of the partnership.
Another collaboration was with reggaeton star Bad Bunny. He was the first Latin music artist to land an Adidas deal.
