#GetSmoooth Challenge: A$AP Rocky and Klarna are giving away exclusive post-lockdown fits
A new look
After being CEO of the fintech company for a day, A$AP Rocky is blessing Klarna with his immaculate taste in fashion. Together with Klarna, the rapper, model and style icon is giving away vintage fits that he personally curated. Let’s take a look at the challenge.
Get smooth
To win the outfits, fans have to post their best post-Lockdown looks and follow Klarna on Instagram. Yes, it’s as simple as that. Klarna will then give away a total of five bundles, that are all curated by A$AP Rocky and his stylist. Each bundle is worth about 500 Dollars.
The Challenge will be going on for the next four weeks. It’s part of Rocky’s ongoing partnership with the company, which was kicked off some weeks ago when the rapper became CEO of Klarna for one day.
The goal of their joint project is to “end fashion’s Corona-induced hibernation”.
For that, they’re not only offering the #Getsmoooth challenge. They’re also delivering us A$AP Rocky’s personal wish- and shopping list for vintage and upcycled fashion.
The whole campaign is supported by local fashionistas like upcoming rapper Genuva, berlin-based influencer Nessie or German streetwear’s favorite YouTuber Justin.
A shared vision
A$AP Rocky joined Klarna as an investor some while ago. Since then, the fintech company and Rocky are doing big things. The #Getsmoooth challenge is just one part of the multi-faced partnership, that includes the sustainability campaign “GiveOne” and an exclusive preview of his new song.
They also dropped a little #Getsmooth-teaser that features Rocky and his similarly fashion-savvy rap-colleague Skepta. Following the lockdown-hibernation-theme, Rocky is seen in a not-so-fresh fit looking for some new clothing. After getting a little help from Klarna, he’s back at it with a sleek, black suit. Skepta on the other hand seems to need a little help.
The video is very reminiscent of the rapper’s personal style and vision. It’s authentic through and through, showing that ads don’t need to be something out of the ordinary. Sometimes, an A$AP Rocky-approved video is just what you need, to get people out of lockdown hibernation. As we always say, culture delivers an authentic framework for exceptional storytelling.
