What you missed

Like every week, we’re back with another recap of the most important happenings of the hiphop and street fashion business world.

This time, we have 187-mega-star Bonez MC showing his love for food and drinks as well as Lil Baby, who just revealed his collaboration with Axe. Meanwhile, the NFT world is getting even more hiphop with a Biggie NFT and Kanye West’s Yeezy x GAP making headlines.

Lots to cover, so let’s get into it!

Bonez MC: It’s getting crunchy

Bonez MC just revealed his newest endeavour: Cereal! The 187-Strassenbande-rapper is planning the release of his own cereal called “Crunchy Bonez”. To advertise the new project, Bonez MC took it to Instagram to show his fans what “Crunchy Bonez” are all about.

The cereal is a mix of two flavours, “Salted Caramel” and “Chocolate Cinnamon”, reminiscent of other popular cereal. From the bone-shaped flakes to the packaging that features an image of Bonez, the look doesn’t hold back.

“Crunchy Bonez” is by far not Bonez MC’s first edible rodeo. Together with RAF Camora, the artist dropped his own soft drink called “Wild Crocodile”.

Lil Baby goes Whaxe

Lil Baby joins forces with Axe to drop the Whaxe stick. Together with the grooming brand, he created “WHAXE” grooming packs. The limited-edition contains “Stick,” “Wash,” and a “Toothbrush”, each arriving in a platinum metallic finishing, encrusted with rhinestones and diamonds.

Following the drop, Lil Baby told Hypebeast: “AXE heard that I used their products and that it was always on my rider and reached out – and here we are. I’m definitely grateful to be a part of this situation. This is my own collection with Axe so its products are specific to my taste.”

He explained further that he only does deals that feel authentic to him – which Axe definitely does. After all, authenticity is key.

Biggie NFTs:
A trip down memory lane

The Notorious B.I.G estate made the Biggie NFT’s available on Tuesday. But first, only for a list of very devoted fans and then to the general public — a 3,000-piece NFT collection that uses algorithms to resurrect the late icon’s signature looks.

Longtime friend of the rapper Wayne Barrow explained that “this is a chance to give fans a piece of his legacy instead of just pushing the legacy on them. It’s what makes web3 great — you can participate instead of just purchasing what somebody’s selling.”

The collection is a generative one, meaning each Biggie comes with unique attributes. They also grant the owners access to exclusive drops, music and more.

Kanye, GAP, and Balenciaga: the end

Kanye West’s and Demna Gvasalia’s three-way GAP collaboration is coming to an end – according to the luxury designer.

There’s no particular reason for that though. It just seems that Demna wanted to help Kanye starting to make GAP great again. Judging from the hype that Yeezy x GAP is getting, Ye doesn’t need Demna anymore, so his bro is seemingly backing off.

Yeezy and GAP are currently on tour and selling clothes in dumpsters (for the vibes) and black bags. And people are loving it.
