Here is what you missed

You may find yourself pondering: “So many hiphop related business news, so little time to keep up.” Well, fear not, my friends! As every week for our “This is what you missed last week,” we’ll recap all the hot news to keep you posted. And what a week it has been again: A$AP Rocky’s creative agency AWGE and Mercedes teased an upcoming fashion collab. Snoop Dogg continues to pursue the path of becoming the Rapper with the most NFT collections. And Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty gets valued at a ridiculous price.

Lots to cover, so let’s get into it:

A$AP Rocky & Mercedes Benz: “History In The Making”

In a post that has already been deleted, A$AP Rocky announced that his creative collective AWGE and Mercedes Benz are on a collaborative mission, and it’s “History In The Making.” More precisely, it is most likely a joint fashion collection.

Rocky already shared first pictures of some of the pieces. So fast fans could already take a first look at a cobranded orange bomber jacket, pants, hoodie, and some kind of accessories. Why fast fans? The post was deleted almost immediately. If you currently look at Rocky’s Instagram account, you’ll find the announcement without the teaser images. Apparently, the first glimpses at the collection were not yet intended for the public. Instead, a 16-second promotional film is now online, in which some pieces can also be peaked at.

It’s not the first time that A$AP Rocky and Mercedes have collaborated in terms of fashion. Back in 2019, Rocky’s AWGE agency and Mercedes released a joint trucker cap for the SXSW Festival.

In addition, the rapper was already the face of a large-scale advertising campaign of the car manufacturer.

Snoop Dogg saves the (Meta-)World as Supercuzz

Those who no longer think much of the real world and are already looking forward to the global takeover of the metaverse should sharpen their ears now. Snoop Dogg (once again) pops up an NFT collection. This time he has teamed up with artist BossLogic, who has already created artwork for Marvel and Disney.

Together, the two drop the “Supercuzz” collection via MakersPlace. A five-part series of comic book covers featuring your new favorite hero Supercuzz.

“SUPERCUZZ….a next-generation superhero born from the streets of Angel City, who enjoys the high flying lavish lifestyle as a self-made crypto-trillionaire, but also dedicates himself to smoking the forces of evil and weeding out crime!”

Get it? Because weed. Absolutely brilliant.

The collection will be released tomorrow, March 17th.

Savage x Fenty is reportedly worth Billions. Plural.

Rihanna seems to be considering an IPO for her Savage x Fenty fashion brand, Bloomberg reports. The whole thing could happen this year. Rihanna is said to be working with Goldmann Sachs and Morgan Stanley, among others.

The company is estimated to be valued at $3 billion.

Last year Rihanna became a billionaire and the richest musician in the world. A large part of this achievement is also related to the success of her fashion brand.

The brand is also extremely well received in Germany. Recently, Shirin David became brand a ambassador for Savage x Fenty here.

Feel Good Story of the Week

Mike Tyson is a big weed fan. It’s not for nothing that his interview format on YouTube is called “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson“. So far, so well known. Now the “baddest man on the planet” has come up with something very special for his own cannabis brand. Under the name “Mike Bites” he now sells edibles in the shape of an ear. We wonder if Evander Holyfield wants some of that.
