Supervisin’

Lifestyle fashion company PacSun has named A$AP Rocky their first Guest Art Director. The collaboration will go on for the next 18 months and includes Rocky supervising designer collaborations, brand campaigns, in-store activations and more. Let’s take a look.

It’s exclusive

Rocky’s first job for PacSun is limited Vans, set to release on July 16. The collab will feature three classic silhouettes with three different colorways each. For PacSun’s president Brieane Olson, A$AP Rocky and his brand A$AP Worldwide seem to be the perfect partners for their future journey: “He has been an amazing collaborator for us when it comes to storytelling.”

With Rocky in their midst, they plan to expand their consumer base of 16 to 24 years old to 28 to 30 years old. A goal that seems pretty realistic judging from Rocky’s wide fanbase that ranges from people in their teens to people in their mid to late 20s.

“This partnership is special to me because it’s a collaboration that combines my roots, A$AP Worldwide and some of the most respected heritage brands that have roots in both the sportswear and lifestyle worlds,” Rocky explained about his connection to the brand.

“Together with PacSun, we will be releasing several limited-edition collections that are both nostalgic and forward at the same time.”

It’s Rocky’s world

A$AP Rocky isn’t just a rapper. Notorious for his iconic streetwear fits the producer, entrepreneur, and apparently, also Art Director is US-Hiphop’s savviest fashion icon.

In recent times, he seems to be especially active when it comes to moves in the fashion and business world. A couple of weeks ago, we already talked about his work for fintech company Klarna, which included vintage fashion galore.

Fitting his upcoming project with PacSun, he recently revealed his work on exclusive and super rare Vans that are supposed to be a total reinvention.
