Demna’s back: Balenciaga Spring 2024 Invitation
After lots of controversial news around Balenciaga and its mastermind Demna Gvasalia, they are back with sending out invitation to their fashion show for Spring 2024. As we spotted on IG, it’s a hotel key to room number 24 and a note saying: “WE ARE PLEASED TO INVITE YOU TO VIEW THE BALENCIAGA SPRING 24 DIGITAL SHOW MAY 30TH, 2023 AT 3PM CET ON BALENCIAGA.COM.”
‘DAS INTELLIGENCE’ at Ruttkowski68 in Cologne (1 week left!)
Ruttkowski;68 is playing host to a new joint exhibition by Japanese-American artist KATSU and Belgian artist Frédéric Platéus. Housed at the gallery’s Cologne flagship, DAS INTELLIGENCE is a collaborative effort that fuses their unique approaches to material, form, and technique.
Platéus’ dynamic work harks to the world of supercars and motorsports. The Belgian artist sources an array of branded material, from fake leather, nylon, and mesh, to create quixotic forms that are aesthetically rooted in the present, but veer towards the future, such as his monochromatic MK12-325 Punch.
KATSU on the other hand, employs drones to assist in the creation of his hybridized portraits and landscapes. In the past, he has tapped into the metaverse through an ambitious NFT project, along with collaborating with the late-Virgil Abloh. The combination of KATSU and Platéus’ work balances past and future, rigidity and expression — resulting in a unique collaborative piece entitled MK7-150 Dot Punch.
DAS INTELLIGENCE will be on view in Cologne until May 28 – only 1 week left!
One year ago: Kurt Busch with his insane “Jordan 3 Black Cement” Race Car
NASCAR Cup Series Champion, Kurt Busch, is an official Jordan athlete. Therefore the brand created a unique Toyota Camry race car for last year’s Kansas Speedway. The sneaker’s signature elephant print immediately captures your attention here as it decorates the sides panels and tips of the hood. Bulls-inspired red accents outfit the oversized Jumpman logos that adorn the hood and sprawl in small fashion around the Toyota-manufactured car and the various “45” hits on the roof and side panels. To further mimic the aesthetic of the retro kicks, a glossy black paint is utilized as the backdrop which speaks to the premium tumbled leather uppers.
Trainer Spotting is the archive you need today
Every once in a while you stroll through the web or Instagram and find a channel that you just keep on revisiting: one of these definitely is @trainer.spotting – as they call it a “historic sneaker moments archive”. And we’re so down for it! Like, look at this picture of Flavor Flav and Big Daddy Kane, where the Public Enemy rapper is sporting the Air Jordan 3s.

For instance, the infamous runway model and creative opted for a black and orange rhinestone-laden Murd333r.fm zip-up hoodie and rocked it with a pair of dark blue denim jeans that boast a striking white shearling design across the front and back. Getting into the brands, Osiris opted for a LOEWE leather logo belt in black, a yellow Goyard Goyardine PM Ambassade Briefcase, a pair of Swift Oval Silver Sunglasses from Balenciaga, as well as a pair of every sneaker head’s grail: the Nike x Cactus Plant Flea Market Dunk Low ‘Pure Platinum’.”
