Ice Spice taking over with hit after hit!
Born in 2000, Ice Spice is making huge waves beyond her Y2K vibe across the rap game. And how the Vogue says she’s ‘just getting started’. The rapper and It-girl from New York is all over TikTok, Instagram and YouTube – and will soon stuck in your head. Her viral hit ‘In Ha Mood’ is so catchy you will catch yourself singing it at your desk. And if not, then her feature with PinkPantheress ‘Boy’s a liar’ will replace it. Her voice and style is unique and sure is here to stay.
New Balance x Bricks & Wood: Nothing changed but the Address.
Another thoughtful collab coming from New Balance: together with the LA-based label Bricks & Wood and its founder Kacey Lynch they release a banger of a shoe with the 9060 – inspired by Lynch’s grandmas home. Both brands coming from the US yet still making waves over in Europe with their Pop up during Paris Fashion Week. A first timer for Lynch and his small indie brand. Our colleagues over at Complex had the chance to interview the creative on his latest project.
Moncler Genius: ‘The Art of Genius’
Italian power house Moncler is bringing its co-creation approach Moncler Genius to another level in London for the local fashion week, they call it ‘The Art of Genius’. The list collaborators, contributors and co-creators will take the brand to new heights with big and upcoming names from the culture. These include: Alicia Keys, Pharrell, Mercedes-Benz, Palm Angels, FRGMT, Adidas Originals, Salehe Bembury, Roc Nation by Jay-Z. This, how they call it, ‘monumental event’ will take place on February 20th. Mark your calendars.
Kendrick Lamar at the Grammys 2023
Rap superstar Kendrick Lamar has once again won the Grammy for ‘Best Rap Album’ with Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Lamar has now won Best Rap Album thrice, having been victorious in the category in 2016 (To Pimp a Butterfly) and 2018 (Damn.). Earlier at the 2023 Grammy Awards he already took home two other trophies with his single “The Heart Part 5” for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Deichmann dropping the brown version of the General Purpose Shoe by Tom Sachs x Nikecraft
Last but not least some Germany exclusive news: as you’re reading this, Deichmann has dropped their first major sneaker. The new brown colorway of the popular General Purpose Shoe that Nike made in collaboration with Tom Sachs under the Nikecraft roof, had its debut at the democratized shoe shop Deichmann. Let’s see where this will take us and what it means for sneaker culture and playing around in the hypesphere.
