Here is what you missed

Another week has passed and in the realm of hiphop business, there have been quite a few happenings. After several collaborations with Prada, adidas has snagged the next high-profile partner in Gucci. Also, Drake saves a Jamaican restaurant and THE AMBITION says thank you for a successful fundraiser to help Ukraine.

Lots to cover, so let’s get into it:

adidas x Gucci is the next big thing

While it may not have a catchy name like “Pradidas,” adidas’ latest collaboration with a luxury brand is no less spectacular. During last weeks Milan fashion week, the German sports manufacturer and the Italian luxury brand presented their first collaboration.

The main focus is placed on adidas typical streetwear, which is then refined by Gucci elements. Besides tracksuits and reals suits, there are also several co-branded Adidas Gazelle sneakers to look forward to. But also all kinds of accessories like caps, bags or gloves were presented.

For both brands, it is the logical further development of the last few years. In addition to the previously mentioned very successful cooperation with Prada, adidas has also worked with Rick Owens and Stella McCarthy, among others, in the past. Gucci, on the other hand, has already successfully collaborated with The North Face & Xbox in recent years.

Our editor Alina Amin recently highlighted how luxury brands can benefit by collaborating with cultural greats, using Kanye West & Balenciaga as an example.

THE AMBITION says thank you for successfull charity campaign

Beyond the hiphop business world, days seem rather grim at the moment, with war raging on in Ukraine. After talking to local helpers, THE AMBITION decided to launch a charity campaign.

One hundred charity t-shirts for 100 € each were offered in order to raise and donate 10,000 € to STELP e.V. and their mission in Ukraine. STELP is a civilian aid organization from Stuttgart, to whom we have direct contact. They’re on-site at this moment to provide unbureaucratic relief supplies.

After only a few hours, all shirts were gone and thanks to your support, we could reach the donation goal.

For this, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all supporters!

Feel good Story of the Week

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Drizzy-Drake coming to the rescue. After Jamaican restaurant Randy’s Pattys had to announce it was closing after 40 years in business, the 6 God stepped in.

Drake explained that he would buy the long-established diner in his hometown outright to save it from going out of business.

Randy’s manager then confirmed to Complex that there had been several requests to buy the restaurant. Among them was apparently also one from someone who represents Drake. However, further details couldn’t be disclosed just yet.
